Milan Fashion Week made fashion lovers from all over the world dream and cry with its shows full of visual effects, emotions. Let’s see some of the most impressive moments of this year collections.
Milan Fashion Week 2019 has just come to an end and it was so eventful that it will be remembered for a very long time; from the sudden death of the fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld to the frenzy of catwalks, shows and exclusive parties.
This year the Italian edition of Fashion Week brought to Milan celebrities, fashion bloggers and influencers from all over the world that became real fashion journalists with their IG stories and photos and at the same time models with their matching outfits.

Starting from the 19th until 25th of February Milan Fashion Week was a frenetic sequence of catwalks of the most rappresentative Italian maisons such as Gucci and Alberta Ferretti on Wednesday the 20th, Fendi, Armani and Moschino on Tuesday 21st, Bottega Veneta and Versace the following day and on the weekend Salvatore Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Laura Biagiotti and many others.
Fendi and Gucci collection deserves a special mention this year. The latter, after the last year gap, returned to the stage in style by expressing Alessandro Michele‘s gothic taste. The invitation of the show was a veiled allusion to what seemed to be the main theme of his collection: androgynous masks as a symbol of his love for ancient culture and fairy worlds. The masks all the models might be a modern-day retelling of the inner desire for liberty, an opposition to all those labels society try to impose in particular to women and generally to sexuality and gender. Today it is well known that many teen celebrities adopt a gender fluid style or an androgynous appearance, which was the trendiest look for many 80’s actresses. The new trends settled by Gucci’s maison for the 2019/2020 F/W collection consisted also of the traditional ankle cuffs trousers as well as pierrot collars. The contrast between the light colors and the mystery of the masks created a mysterious and magical atmosphere that played upon the most ambiguous parts of our primordial identity.

Fendi’s collection was a special and emotional tribute to kaiser Karl Lagerfeld who was the top designer for the maison for over 54 years. From the invitations to the detailes the models wore and the stage decorations, everything remembered the recognitional items the fashion designer made famous. The catwalkers exhibited frock coats and wore their hair back. The common denominator of Lagerfeld’s last collection was the oversize ribbons attached on different points of clothes and accessories. He also played upon the different thickness of skirts and blouses but mantained a monochromatic beige/brown-scale. He also brought on stage the chic revisiting of the deerstalker which reflected the British influence that represented an added value to the ” made in Italy ” concept that today embraces a series of foreign tendencies, mantaining at the same time its original taste.
Among Fendi’s special guests we met Joey King, the main character of The kissing Booth while Gucci invited many actors and actresses as well as the singer and The Outsider’s protagonist Jared Leto, famous for his extravagant style that crosses gender boundaries. In addition, most of fashion lovers probably already followed the IG accounts of famous fashion influencers as Chiara Ferragni for the latest up-to-dates from the 2019th edition of Milan fashion week, in which many new entries in the fashion industry and influencers world as Giulia De Lellis who reported through her IG stories a lot of real-time information.
